Type Nine: The Friendly Peacemaker
You avoid conflict at all costs, and harmony is your ultimate goal. You are the picture of stability and steadiness. Others are drawn to you for your ability to simplify any situation. Your desire is for life’s situations to go on smoothly, and you embrace others with your welcoming attitude. You long to keep things as they are, and change can often intimidate you since you see it as a disturbance to what is already working well. Loss and separation are your deepest fears, whether relationally or physically. You fear being perceived as needy, so you’ll often go along with things you don’t agree with just to avoid rocking the boat. Your deepest desire is to achieve ultimate peace. You want to feel harmony with your relationships and your surroundings, and when everyone in your life gets along and feels content with you, you feel ultimate peace of mind.
Your strengths include an innate ability to hear and receive multiple perspectives. You listen first, and you have a way of making everyone feel truly heard and understood.
People are drawn to you by the way you make them feel. You are the definition of calm, cool, and collected. You are a fantastic support system for those around you, and you are often called on to mediate disagreements between others. You don’t appear to have a judgment bone in your body.
Your weakness however lies in how you deal in personal conflict with those closest to you. In order to avoid conflict, you become passive-aggressive and minimize the problem at hand. You are typically unaware that you’re even being passive-aggressive, which only further frustrates those in your life. You can also tend to be slothful in your ways since you’d rather remain in an idealized world in your head rather than address the issues in front of you. For growth, focus on embracing the natural conflicts that occur in life rather than shying away from them. Directly addressing issues with those in your life will breed much healthier relationships.
Stepping outside of your comfort zone in regards to adventure and unexpected situations will help you grow as well.
Lastly, don’t forget to care for your own personal wants and needs. You can tend to put yourself last and minimize your own voice, and it’s important to see the value in what you have to bring to the table.
